This work needs a loving home or a place to be seen. If you can provide either, adopt it now.
This is currently photographed in unfired clay. It will be fired when fully dry and the photos will be updated. Occassionally, works are destroyed in the firing process.
This was a big challenge in terms of reining in spatial distortion, but it pulled together in the end.
Relief presents a special challenge in that it is both illusionistic and three dimensional; the illusion is necessarily dependent on angle-of-view and angle-of-light while the three dimensionality pretty much ensures the object will encounter a wide range of viewing and lighting conditions.
Looking from the side view you can see the compressions and distortions necessary to achieve the front-on illusion.
